Osman Hadi remains in critical condition in Singapore hospital, says doctor

The latest CT scan of Hadi’s lungs continues to show presence of blood, similar to earlier findings

Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi remains in critical and unchanged condition while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Dr Abdul Ahad, a neurosurgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital involved in Hadi’s treatment, said on Tuesday citing doctors at SGH that Hadi's kidneys, heart, and lungs were functioning. However, no visible improvement or deterioration has been observed in his neurological response.

A brain CT scan conducted after his transfer showed that the ischemic condition on the left side of his brain remains unchanged. Cerebral swelling, or edema, was still present. Injury to the brain stem had caused pressure to develop in the brain’s ventricular system, creating a major challenge for doctors.

The latest CT scan of Hadi’s lungs continued to show the presence of blood, similar to earlier findings. A chest drain had been inserted while he was in Bangladesh, and respiratory management continues in Singapore with this complication in mind.

Hadi was transferred to Singapore after initially undergoing surgery and intensive care treatment in Dhaka following the attack.

He was shot on December 12 by an assailant in the Box Culvert area of Bijoynagar in the capital.
