He was arrested from a militant den in the Fatullah area of Narayanganj

New Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) member Farid Uddin Rumee has confessed his involvement in the attack on cops in the capital’s Gulistan.

He was arrested from a militant den in the Fatullah area of Narayanganj  on Sunday.

Rumi made the statement under section 164 when the police produced him before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Iman after the end of his four-day remand and pleaded to record his statement.

Allowing the plea, the court recorded Rumi’s statement and sent him to jail.

Meanwhile, the same court placed Rumi’s cohort Mishuk Khan alias Mizan on a two-day remand as police produced him before court and pleaded to place him on seven-day fresh remand.

Three policemen were injured as a crude bomb was hurled at them in Dhaka’s Gulistan area on April 29. The improvised bomb went off that night, a few hours after two people were killed in a blast in a suspected militant den in Dhaka.
