The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court will declare the verdict on Thursday in the case on the beating of two dogs and burial of their 14 puppies alive.
Previously on October 28, a security guard beat two dogs near to death, and after putting them in sacks, buried 14 puppies alive in Bagichartek area of Rampura in the capital at night. Later, the People for Animal Welfare (PAW) Foundation lodged a case against the guard with Rampura police station.

PAW activists and patrons will hold a sit-in program in the Chief Metropolitan Court area on the day of the verdict to emphasize the role the government can play to stop animal brutality. Humane Society International (HSI), an international organization working on animal protection issues around the world, has commended the progress in the case and expressed their solidarity with PAW.
HSI representative of Bangladesh will also participate in the sit-in program in the court area tomorrow.
"In our society, brutality is a common phenomenon," said Rakibul Huq Emil, founder of PAW foundation. "Sometimes, this brutality extends into killing, and innocent animals fall victims to it. The weakest always bear the greatest brunt of brutality. It is our responsibility to raise our voices for them."
