Forgery trial against Ragib Ali starts

Update : 04 Dec 2016, 10:53 PM
Besides, in another case launched for deceit and fraudulence, the charges have been filed against the duo along with four others. The four are Ragib's son-in-law Abdul Quadir, daughter Rosina Quadir, relative Dewan Mustak Majod and Tarapur tea-garden caretaker Pankaj Kumar Gupta. During the indictment, the six were present in the court of Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman Hero. Seven of the 14 witnesses in the forgery case gave their statements. Quadir and Rosina are currently on the run while Pankaj Kumar Gupta is out on bail. There are 14 witnesses for the second case too. The court has set December 14 for the next hearing. When an arrest warrant was issued for Ragib Ali and the others in both lawsuits on August 10, the industrialist fled the country with his son. He was, however, arrested in India on November 24 and brought home. Two days ago, Ragib Ali's son Abdul Hai was also arrested by Zakiganj immigration police when attempting to enter Bangladesh from India.
