SC upholds Manna’s bail order

A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order on condition for submission of his passport. The court said Manna will stay on bail till the filing of police probe reports in the cases. Manna’s lawyer Advocate Md Manjur Alam told the Dhaka Tribune: “There is no legal bar for Manna's release from jail following the order.” On August 30 and November 10, the High Court granted bails to Manna in the cases. Manna was arrested on February 25, last year, after an audio clip of his telephone conversations with BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka and another unknown person was leaked. The two cases were filed with Gulshan police station last year on charges of provoking the army and sedition.
