'More than 300,000 government jobs vacant'

The minister made the statement at the parliament on Thursday afternoon. Replying to a query, he said: “Till December 2015, there were 328,311 vacant government posts in various ministries, departments and other organisations.” The minister also said there are 1,382,393 employees working in various government services—among which 378,354 are female and 1,004,039 are male. Ashraf said: “Annual Performance Report has been introduced in Ministry of Public Administration instead of Annual Service Report to ensure promotions on the basis of merit and competency of the government officials.”
