The government has eased public procurement rules to buy 100,000 tons of rice from the international market through private suppliers in a shorter time.
The approval came from the fifth meeting of the Advisers' Council Committee on Economic Affairs (ACCEA), held this year at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
