The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised the maritime ports of the country hoist local cautionary signal No. 3 (R) as a low-pressure area has formed over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Under its influence, squally weather may affect the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said a special bulletin of Met Office.

All fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
