The US Embassy in Dhaka has said that foreign parents who travel to the United States for the purpose of giving birth with tourist visas may not be able to renew their visas in the future.

They use government assistance to pay for their medical care.
"These costs are passed on to the American taxpayers, and those parents may not be eligible to renew their visas in the future," said the embassy in a message.
