Amid an ongoing sit-in demanding unpaid wages, worker representatives have met with the labour secretary.

The meeting began at 2:30pm on Saturday at the Shrom Bhaban in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, and is still ongoing.

A 15-member delegation, including labour leaders Shahidul Alam, Shaheen Alam, and Satyajit Biswas from Apparels Plus Eco Limited, is participating in the discussion.

Meanwhile, hundreds of workers are gathered outside the Shrom Bhaban, while law enforcement personnel remain on alert.

Shamim Imam, coordinator of the Jatiya Shromik Karmachari Sangram Parishad, said: “A planned mass rally at 4pm has been postponed due to the meeting with the labour secretary. Further decisions will be made based on the outcome of the discussions.”

Since March 23, workers from three factories under the TNZ Group have been staging a sit-in protest in front of the Shrom Bhaban.
