"Betar programmes must be updated according to the needs of the listeners," the adviser said at a meeting with its officials in Agargaon on Wednesday.

He highlighted the necessity of digitally archiving old programs in a catalogue format and emphasised the need for rebroadcasting them. "Old programmes should also be rebroadcast considering the needs of listeners."

The adviser stressed the importance of developing a specific action plan to improve the quality of the programmes and called upon officials, artistes and technicians to make Betar relevant to the younger generation.

Additionally, PIB should establish collaborative relationships with various universities and research institutions.

Mahfuz Alam mentioned that PIB is working to enhance the quality of journalism alongside providing training to journalists. He urged the officials to formulate specific proposals for the development of PIB.

The adviser made these remarks during a discussion meeting with the officials of the Press Institute Bangladesh in Dhaka.
