The interim government has canceled the declaration of the daily newspaper 'Jai Jai Din.'
The decision was made following a request from the former editor of the newspaper, Shafik Rehman, who alleged violations of regulations in the publication process.
This information was disclosed in an office order signed by Dhaka District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tanvir Ahmed on Wednesday.
The office order stated that the authorized press, where the daily Jai Jai Din was supposed to be printed, was not being used.
Instead, false information was provided to printers, as reported by Shafiq Rehman.
After issuing a show-cause notice and taking necessary actions, and finding the allegations to be true, the printing declaration (or declaration paper) of the newspaper has been canceled.
The order further mentioned that the newspaper violated Section 10 of the Printing Press and Publication (Declaration and Registration) Act, 1973.
As a result, the declaration issued in the name of the publisher and printer, Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, has been revoked.
