  • Temporary passes valid for up to two years
  • Permanent passes issued for two to ten years
Update : 20 Feb 2025, 08:20 PM

The government has introduced a new policy regulating entry into the Secretariat, the country's administrative hub.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued the policy on Thursday, according to its Director (Public Relations), Faisal Hasan.

The policy covers entry control, issuance of permanent and temporary passes, visitor passes, and vehicle stickers for access to the Secretariat, he said.

Only entry passes designated and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs will be valid for access. Temporary passes will be issued for three months to two years, while permanent passes will be valid for two to ten years. Vehicles will require stickers, with private individuals receiving one-year validity and government officials receiving five-year validity.

Stickers will be color-coded: green, blue, and yellow, with a red temporary sticker.

The policy also mandates the formation of an Entry Control and Security Committee, with security personnel verifying individuals at entry points.

Those permitted to enter include permanent and temporary pass holders, Members of Parliament, diplomats, attendees of meetings and conferences within ministries, General Post Office mail carriers, contractors, workers, and newspaper suppliers. Pre-approved visitors will be allowed a single-day entry.
