The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a warning to llegal foreign nationals residing in Bangladesh, advising them to obtain valid documentation promptly.
Failure to do so will result in legal action, the ministry said.
Senior Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs Faisal Hasan confirmed the matter on Sunday.
The warning notice mentioned that the government had received complaints from various sources about foreign nationals illegally staying in Bangladesh and working in various institutions. Those who are in the country or employed without proper documentation are urged to obtain the necessary paperwork to legalize their stay or employment. Legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
The notice was signed by Mohammad Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury, special assistant to the chief adviser and Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen, senior secretary of the ministry.
