BAF accords reception to gallantry award holder freedom fighters

Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, BBP, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc, hosted a reception for the gallantry award holder freedom fighters of the Bangladesh Air Force, and the brave members of "Kilo Flight" and their successors.

The event took place on Friday at BAF Shaheen Hall, Tejgaon, Dhaka.

The nation holds the contributions of the heroic freedom fighters and Kilo Flight members in the highest regard.

In recognition of their sacrifices, the reception was organized on Armed Forces Day 2024, with a total of 29 freedom fighters and their successors in attendance.

Members of Kilo Flight and their successors were also present at the ceremony.

During the event, the chief of air staff exchanged greetings with the freedom fighters and their successors, as well as with members of Kilo Flight and their successors.

He noted that the Bangladesh Air Force, which began with only three aircraft during the Liberation War, is now equipped with advanced fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, various types of radars, missiles, and overhauling technology.

The chief of air staff highlighted several ongoing projects aimed at enhancing operational and administrative capabilities, many of which have been successfully completed.

With deep respect and gratitude, he acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the freedom fighters and Kilo Flight members during the 1971 Liberation War.

The sacrifices and contributions of these heroes continue to inspire the present members of the Bangladesh Air Force.
