Students of Government Titumir College have decided to boycott classes and exams indefinitely and continue their "Barasat Barricade" movement until their demand for upgrading the college to a university is met.
Naek Nur Mohammad, a protesting student of Government Titumir College, shared this information with BBC Bangla on Monday.
He said: "As part of the ongoing 'Barasat Barricade' program, we will remain on campus tomorrow (Tuesday). Until 8pm, some of us were at the Secretariat, where we were told that a committee would be formed. Later, when we saw no progress and asked again, we were informed that four advisers would sit with us to discuss the issue."
He further mentioned that the students have been told they will be summoned to the ministry again on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, students from Government Titumir College again blocked roads in the capital's Mohakhali area over their demand.
This has led to renewed traffic congestion following a day of gridlock, causing severe inconvenience for commuters.
Meanwhile, a 12-member delegation of the protesting students has staged a hunger strike front of the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat.
On Monday at around 7pm, students blocked the road in front of Titumir College.
