The interim government has approved the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, established in the context of the student-popular uprising, as a non-political, voluntary, and welfare-oriented non-governmental organization.

This information was announced on Monday by the Chief Advisor's Press Wing.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presided over a board meeting of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation at the State Guest House Jamuna.

On this day, at the second meeting of the Executive Council of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, Sarjis Alam was appointed as general secretary, and Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha was appointed as the chief executive officer.

The foundation's primary goal is to provide financial and humanitarian support to the families of those killed during the student-popular movement that took place in July-August 2024, including employment or other suitable benefits for family members.

It also aims to offer essential medical assistance, including medicine, employment opportunities, financial aid, and other suitable support to those injured or disabled during the movement.
