The Buet authorities on Wednesday revoked the hall seat allotments of several students who were accused of being involved in Chhatra League politics.
The decision was made in response to ongoing student protests.
However, the administration has not yet revealed the exact number of students impacted by the decision.
The protests, which prompted students to boycott all academic activities for a second consecutive day, were driven by frustration over the authorities' failure to take action against those involved in Chhatra League politics.
Students stated that they would hold discussions among various batches to evaluate the situation and determine their next steps.
The seat allotments were cancelled following complaints about the students' political involvement. To ensure discipline and peace in the dormitories, the decision has been taken to revoke the allotments of the accused students, said Professor Mohammad Al Amin Siddique, director of Buet's Directorate of Student Welfare (DSW).
The protesting students confirmed that all students they named, who were allegedly involved in Chhatra League activities, had their allotments cancelled.
