For the third consecutive day, students at Islamic University (IU) continued their protests on Sunday, demanding the appointment of a vice-chancellor.
Frustrated by the prolonged delay in the appointment, students had already blocked the Kushtia-Khulna highway and held demonstrations on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
At 11am on Sunday, as per their scheduled program, students from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement gathered on campus.
From there, they marched in protest, covering the administrative building, all residential halls, various faculties, and several campus roads.
Students expressed their frustration, saying they wanted to be at their study tables, not on the streets.
While other universities have resumed classes and exams after appointing VCs, IU continues to fall behind, they said.
