Safi Muddassir Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, was arrested on Friday from the Uttara area of Dhaka.
He was arrested by the police in connection with a case filed at Ashulia police station.
The matter has been confirmed by Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ahmad Muyeed.
He said: "Safi Muddassir Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, was arrested at around 3:30am on Saturday. We will produce him before a court to seek remand period for interrogation."
