The government has decided to launch a joint operation by the army, police, and industrial police to ensure the security of the RMG industry in the Savar, Ashulia, and Gazipur areas.
The joint operation will start from Monday night, BGMEA President Khandaker Rafiqul Islam shared the information with journalists after the meeting at the Secretariat.
The decision was made during a meeting between the Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and the BGMEA and BKMEA on Monday afternoon.
The Home Affairs Adviser, directing the swift legal action against external elements involved in the unrest.
He asked the law enforcers to act promptly in order to keep the wheels of the economy moving.
Additionally, the adviser requested the owners to keep all factories operational from Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, workers seeking jobs were protesting in Ashulia by blocking the Nabinagar-Chandra and Baipail-Abdullahpur roads, demanding equal employment opportunities for men and women in RMG factories, among other demands.
For the last few days, separate incidents of unrest on different issues have caused interruptions in the daily activities of factories.
