Chittagong University (CU) will reopen on August 19 after being closed for over a month.
However, administrative operations have already resumed, with the seat allotment process for residential halls set to begin on Saturday (August 10).
The university halls will officially open on August 18.
The decision to reopen CU was made during the 552nd emergency syndicate meeting, held online on Wednesday night, said CU Syndicate Member Professor Dr Shamim Uddin Khan.
He said that classes will commence on August 19, with student hall allocations to be finalized beforehand.
"Students can apply online for hall seats from August 10 (Saturday) to August 14. Those who have previously applied do not need to reapply. Seat allocations will be announced on August 17, and the halls will reopen on August 18."
Meanwhile, in the 552nd emergency syndicate meeting, the university also proposed financial assistance for those killed and injured during the anti-discrimination student movement. Additionally, a condolence was offered for the two CU students who lost their lives in the protests.
Chittagong University had been indefinitely closed since July 17, following student protests against discrimination.
