Anwara-Faujdarhat pipeline repaired, gas supply to resume by afternoon

The repair of the damaged pipes and the commissioning of gas in the 42-inch diameter Anwara-Faujdarhat pipeline of GTCL have been completed.

At 7:20am on Friday, repairs to the damaged pipes and the commissioning of gas were completed.

The gas supply is expected to return to normal by the afternoon.

Gas transmission and pressure are gradually increasing in coordination with the LNG supply and the current gas grid pressure of 70 PSI.

The 42-inch diameter Anwara-Faujdarhat pipeline sustained damage in an accident between Karnaphuli Tunnel and KAFCO at 5pm on July 9.

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has ordered the creation of a comprehensive pipeline map to prevent such incidents in the future, apologizing to customers for the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen event.
