The motorcyclist, who went under the wheels of a bus that caught on fire on Saturday in the capital’s Banani area, has succumbed to his injuries.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Shyamoli on Saturday night.
Banani police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Shahan confirmed the matter on Sunday.
The OC said the identity of the deceased motorcyclist could not be known yet.
The JK Paribahan bus from Sherpur caught on fire at 4pm and two firefighting units managed to bring it under control around 4:15pm.
According to the fire service, the bus was going towards Mohakhali Bus Terminal. Later, a motorcycle went under the wheels of the bus while taking a U-turn in front of the Navy headquarters.
The bus caught on fire when the motorcycle's tank exploded.
