A bus caught fire in Dhaka’s Banani area on Saturday.
The fire started at 4pm. On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 4:15pm, said Khaleda Yasmin, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room.
"The fire service units brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes," she added.
According to fire services. a JK Paribahan bus from Sherpur was going towards Mohakhali Bus Terminal. Meanwhile, a motorcycle went under the wheels of the bus while taking a U-turn in front of the Navy headquarters. The bus caught on fire when the motorcycle's tank exploded.
The injured motorcyclist was taken to the hospital. Commuters aboard the bus managed to get off safely.
