Awami League Presidium Member and the candidate for Dhaka-13 constituency Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Sunday urged the people to go to the polls on election day to teach the international community a lesson.
“Whether or not you choose to cast your vote for me, please come to the polling stations on election day so the international community knows the people of Bangladesh elect the government, not the outsiders,” he said during his election campaign at Mohammadpur Town Hall area of the capital.
He said that the coming 12th parliamentary election will be free, fair, neutral, and competitive.
“This election is an election to protect the freedom of our country. This election aims to save our country. This election is an election to continue the ongoing development, peace, and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh,” he added.
Regarding the election environment, Nanak said: “Very festive election scenario is prevailing in Dhaka-13 constituency. More candidates are contesting for this seat. We want this festive mode to remain till the last day of the election.”
The 12th national polls is scheduled for January 7.
