An Awami League leader was hacked to death by miscreants at Titas upazila in Comilla on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mostafa Kamal Munshi, Awami League general secretary of ward 9 of the Bhitikandi union. He was a resident of Raghunathpur village of the upazila.
The incident took place at the Nayarchar area of Narandia union of the upazila, said Titas police station Officer-in-Charge Kanchan Kanti Das confirming the matter.
Police suspected that the murder may have been the result of a previous enmity.
“Due to the remote and char area, we currently do not have more information,” he said.
