In response to the Meteorological Office's issuance of cautionary signal No. 7 for Cyclone Midhili, all clearance and movement of goods at Mongla seaport have been suspended on Friday.
Mongla Port Harbour Master Captain Mohammad Shaheen Majid confirmed this directive, adding that unloading of goods from all ships at Mongla port has been halted.
Workers on foreign ships in the port have been instructed to disembark, and cargo handling and transportation activities for 15 foreign commercial ships stationed at the port have been suspended.
Additionally, authorities have mandated the safe evacuation of all boats and ships within the port.
