The Faculty of Business Administration at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized seminar on “A Journey towards Smart Bangladesh, an initiative of the Bangladesh Government” at the AIUB auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.
The seminar was organized as a part of the “Dr Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series” in honour of AIUB’s Founder Chairman Dr Anwarul Abedin, who catalyzed a substantial transformation in the educational sector of the country, says a press release.
The event featured Md Tazul Islam, minister, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, as the chief guest.
The welcome speech was delivered by Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, member of the Board of Trustees at AIUB.
Md Tazul Islam discussed the initiatives of the Bangladesh Government for Smart Bangladesh.
Following the minister's presentation, a round-table discussion was organized with the participation of notable figures, including Dr Ferhat Anwar, former director of IBA at Dhaka University and advisor at Banglalink, Taimur Rahman, chief corporate and regulatory affairs officer (CCRAO) at Banglalink, Afran Ali, chairperson at Zaytoon Business Consultant and Onkur Digital Limited, Dr Abdur Rahman, pro vice-chancellor at AIUB, and Prof Dr Dip Nandi, associate dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, AIUB.
Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, member of the Board of Trustees at AIUB, presented a token of appreciation to Md Tazul Islam, MP.
Faculty members, officers, and students were also present at the seminar.
