Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed emphasised his support towards a disciplined culture in university.
He expressed his views at a seminar on the right to information on the campus in Sylhet on Wednesday.
Prof Farid said that there should be a curfew of around 10:30pm. He mentioned that students referred to this as a "Talibani culture" and he expressed pride in it.
The VC clarified that he preferred this approach over an open campus culture where students could roam freely until late at night.
He emphasized that the university is responsible for its students' safety and well-being, and he doesn't want parents to worry about their children's whereabouts late at night.
During the seminar, the VC highlighted his commitment to maintaining a disciplined and secure campus environment.
