The e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (eCAB) and eCAB Women Forum (EWF) participated in the largest-ever Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2023) which was launched on Tuesday.

They participated in this showcase with two stalls where 11 female entrepreneur’s products were displayed. Most of the products displayed were handicrafts, food, and clothing, which were handmade and manufactured in Bangladesh, reads a press release issued on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the MIHAS 2023.

During the fair, EWF also participated in a number of B2B sessions where they were able to interact with important international clients and delegates.

This interaction allowed eCAB members to promote Bangladeshi products and encourage future business propositions and opportunities.

Naznin Nahar Begum, Farha Mahmud Trina, Shammi Akhter, Zarin Marzan Khan, and Shakila Akhter represented the EWF as participants in MIHAS.

Farha Mahmud Trina (Coordinator of this event from EWF) said: “As a coordinator on behalf of EWF in the prestigious MIHAS expo 2023, it proved to be quite a nice learning experience. We had meetings with the Malaysia High Commission's first secretary to express our willingness to arrange fairs in Malaysia and are grateful for their support. Through these B2B sessions and similar events, we are really hopeful that we will make the Malaysia and Bangladesh business relationship much stronger for future endeavours.”

The highly anticipated 19th edition of MIHAS 2023, hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) and organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), featured close to 1,900 booths represented by 44 participating countries.

This made it not only the largest MIHAS event to date but also the world’s leading halal showcase.

MIHAS 2023, with the theme “Paving the Way of Halal”, showcased the latest trends, technologies, and innovations across 13 major halal industry clusters.

The showcase is going on at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur from September 12-15.

Throughout the event, this edition featured a hybrid format by combining a physical trade exhibition with a virtual accessible platform.
