Ishtiaque Abedin, founding member and chairman of the Board of Trustees of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), was honoured with the “Commonwealth Business Excellence Award 2023”.
He received the award at the Commonwealth Partnership Summit and Business Excellence Awards 2023 held on 27 July 2023 at M Hotel in Singapore for his outstanding contribution to Business and Social Service, says a press release issued on Tuesday.
A memento and certificate have been given in recognition of the award.
Ishtiaque Abedin has been contributing to the business sector in Bangladesh for the last 28 years.
He is the managing director of Chemlube Limited, the only distributor in Bangladesh of MAK Lubricants, a product of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
Abedin is also the managing director of Shanzaib Limited, Subaru Bangladesh Limited, Shanzaib Food and Beverage Limited, Shanzaib Dairy Limited, and Shanzaib Solutions Limited.
He is the chairman of American Dairy Limited.
Ishtiaque Abedin is a joint secretary of the executive committee of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB).
He also holds memberships with the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), and India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI).
