The identity of a man who was missing for the last six days was found through fingerprints.
The deceased was identified as Ruhul Quddus, 32, son of Nesar Ahmad of Dhanua ward number 4 in Chandpur district's Faridganj upazila.
The body was handed over to the relatives after identification.
Kamrangirchar police station SI Mohsin Hasan said: "The deceased was found unconscious on the paved road next to the Kamrangirchar Power House around 5am on Friday."
He was admitted to the medicine department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital as an unidentified person and died while undergoing treatment there at 2.40pm on Saturday, the police officer added.
His death certificate stated that he died of unknown poisoning.
SI Mohsin Hasan said: "The relatives of the deceased were informed after his identity was found. Autopsy was completed on Sunday afternoon."
The body was handed over to Azizul Haque Khan, brother of the deceased.
The deceased's brother said: "Ruhul Quddus was mentally unstable. He used to leave the house occasionally. On April 16, he left without telling anyone. He was not found after a frantic search. After getting the news through the police, we went to DMCH and found his body.”
According to the police, whether Ruhul Quddus was in the clutches of the unknown party, or he died due to some other reason, it will be known after the post-mortem report.
An unnatural death case was filed.
