The sale of advance train tickets started on Friday morning and tickets for many routes – especially northern ones – vanished in the blink of an eye.
The tickets were available online only from 8am on the Bangladesh Railway website and the Rail Sebha app.
Just a few minutes later, it was found that there were no tickets for these four trains - Dhumketu Express, Banalata Express, Silk City and Padma Express from Dhaka to Rajshahi.
It was the same for the Dhaka to Rangpur-bound Kurigram Express and Lalmonirhat-bound Lalmoni Express.
However, tickets were available for trains of Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes where there is less passenger pressure.
Apart from this, seats were also available on the train for the Dhaka-Khulna route, although in a limited number.
Train tickets for April 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 will be available on April 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, respectively.
Meanwhile, return tickets for April 25, 26, 27, 29, 29 and 30 will be available on April 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.
Bangladesh Railway earlier this month announced that no passengers would be allowed to enter railway stations without a ticket ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
It also imposed a restriction on travelling on the roof of trains.
