Bangladesh Chhatra League's good deeds do not get covered by the media, said the organization's President Saddam Hussain.

"If Chhatra League does 100 good deeds, it does not get covered by the media, but if it does one bad thing, it gets covered by 100 media outlets,” he said at a Chhatra League meeting at Isdair Osmani Stadium in Narayanganj on Saturday.

He added that readers decide their stand on a matter after they read about them. “But 'media coup' to create political anarchy is not proper journalism."

Saddam later urged Chhatra League workers to remain loyal to the ideals of Bangabandhu. “We have to keep an eye on how to take the message of Smart Bangladesh to the students.”

He added: “Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders and activists will be lovers, they will learn to love. They will write love letters to girls, and not be oppressors.”

“They will unite against those who try to hurt and oppress girls. There is no place for abusers, oppressors, and extortionists in Chhatra League,” he added.

Addressing the leaders and workers, Saddam Hussain said: “I have been in power for three consecutive terms, but there is no chance for complacency. Our fight is not over, we have to keep on fighting to see the end of this battle. Attempts are being made to legitimize corruption and murderers by talking about politics. The corrupt cannot be rehabilitated under the guise of democracy.”

He also said that the Narayanganj Metropolitan Committee will be formed soon.

General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan said that no injustice will be tolerated in the name of the organization. If anyone is involved in any criminal activity, they will be handed over to law enforcement.

Shamim Osman, member of parliament from Narayanganj-4 constituency, Zilla Parishad Chairman Chandan Sheel, District Awami League General Secretary Abu Hasnat Md Shaheed Badal along with local Awami League and affiliated organization leaders were present at the meeting.
