Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested three suspected members of new militant outfit “Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya”, from Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
A team of CTTC conducted a drive in Naikhongchhari and arrested them along with arms and explosives on Sunday, said CTTC chief Md Asaduzzaman at DMP Media Centre on Monday.
According to sources, Kabir Ahmad, 45, of Ramu upazila was arrested on the basis of secret information by a team of CTTC Dhaka at around 2am on Saturday.
Based on the information of the detainee, a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police of CTTC Dhaka, Md Imran, raided the rubber garden of Aminul Islam in Ward No 8 of Chagalkhaiya of Baishari union of Naikhongchhari upazila and seized weapons and ammunition on Sunday.
At the same time, two others – Md Alam Prakash Alimya Dakat and Nurul Abshar – were also arrested.
