A mild cold wave is sweeping across the districts of Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jessore and Chuadanga, according to a met office release.
However, the temperature might increase by up to 0.5-2 degrees Celsius after Saturday, and the intensity of the cold will decrease, said Shahinul Islam, a meteorologist with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Day and night temperatures may fall again at the end of next week, said the meteorologist, while forecasting weather for the 24 hours from 9am on Friday.
The release added that the weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Moderate to thick fog may occur across the country from midnight till morning and it may be there till noon in some places.
Night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged and day temperatures may rise slightly.

Due to a reduced difference between day and night temperatures, moderate to severe cold conditions will likely persist in the north, the northwestern and central part of the country, the release added.
The ridge of subcontinental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining western part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius in both Sitakunda and Cox's Bazar, while the lowest temperature on Friday was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.
No rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours.
