Rain likely across country; Dimla records highest rain

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday forecast rain and thundershowers in different parts of the country for the next 24 hours commencing at 9am.

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Khulna division," said a Met office bulletin issued in the morning.

The bulletin also said moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country.

In the last 24 hours till 6am on Monday, Dimla recorded the highest rainfall of 101 millimetres.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded at 34.2°C in Rajshahi division, while Monday's lowest temperature was 22°C in Sylhet.

The sun will set at 6:47pm on Monday and rise at 5:23am on Tuesday in Dhaka.
