9.5℃ in Chuadanga, country's lowest temperature so far this year

The mercury has started to drop as the winter has come in Bangladesh.

People of Chuadanga are experiencing severe cold as 9.5℃, this year's lowest temperature in Bangladesh, was recorded here on Friday morning.

Rakibul Hasan, in-charge of Chuadanga meteorological office, said the lowest temperature of Bangladesh was recorded 9.5℃ around 9am.

He predicted that mercury may fall further in the district on Saturday.

The chilly weather is disrupting daily life, forcing people to stay indoors and causing woes to low-income people.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins, and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from late night to morning.
