The government has decided to increase the price of flour sold under the OMS (open market sale) program by Tk6 per kg effective from Sunday.
A letter has been sent to the director general of the Directorate General of Food on Wednesday to implement this decision.
The letter was sent re-fixing the price of loose and packet flour sold under OMS program, Food Secretary Md Ismail Hossain confirmed Bangla Tribune on Thursday.
According to sources, the price of open flour is being increased by Tk6 per kg and the price of packet flour is being increased by Tk4.5 per kg.
From Sunday, open flour will be sold at Tk24 per kg under the OMS program run by the food department which is currently sold at Tk18 per kg.
Besides, price of packet flour will be increased by Tk4.5 per kg, so 2kg packet flour will be sold at Tk55, which is now being sold at Tk46.
