Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed an inquiry committee over Friday's incident of a question paper leak during the recruitment exam.
Biman Managing Director and CEO Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Saturday, adding that a three-member committee had been formed led by its chief financial officer.
However, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will interrogate the members of the committee.
On Friday, Detective Branch arrested five junior officers and employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for their alleged involvement in leaking recruitment examination question papers.
They are motor transport operator Jahangir Alam, Mahfuz Alam Bhuiyan, Enamul Haque, office assistant Awlad Hossain and Harun ur Rashid.
A top official of DMP told Dhaka Tribune: “We are trying to find out the mastermind of the question paper leak. The arrested hinted that a high official at Biman GSE (ground support engineering) unit may be involved in this leak.”
Biman Managing Director and CEO Zahid Hossain said: "Strict legal action will be taken if any of Biman's syndicate are involved in the question paper leak."
Earlier on Friday, Biman suspended the recruitment examinations for 100 posts due to allegations of question leak. Enraged by this, the job seekers protested in front of the examination centre in Uttara.
The written exam was scheduled to be held at 3pm in two schools in Uttara.
However, Biman announced the suspension of the test around 2pm.
