Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Riyadh indefinitely following an attack on an airport in Saudi Arabia, citing passenger safety. The airline plans to resume flights to Dammam from October 21, subject to approval from Dammam airport authorities.
The information was announced in a press release issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines' public relations department on Saturday.
According to the press release, a decision on resuming flights on the Riyadh route will be made after further instructions are received from Riyadh airport authorities. Passengers will be informed of any updates.
Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines continues to operate flights to Jeddah and Medina as usual. Passengers can use these 2 international airports to travel to and from Saudi Arabia in emergencies.
For passenger convenience, the airline is deploying aircraft with higher passenger capacity on the Medina route. This arrangement will continue until October 18, after which Boeing 787 aircraft will operate on the route as before, starting October 19.
In addition, Biman is making arrangements to operate extra flights on the Jeddah route in response to passenger demand.
The airline said further updates on flight operations and schedules on these routes would be announced in due course. Passengers have been requested to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales center for information on ticket purchases, bookings and travel.
