A security guard died after falling from an under-construction building in capital’s East Manikdi area under cantonment police station.
He breathed his last on Tuesday around 8:30am while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 60, son of late Jamal Uddin of Tankatlasen village, sadar upazila of Mymensingh district.
Confirming the information, Deputy Assistant Inspector (ASI) of Cantonment Police Station Jahir Iqbal said: “Shahidul Islam was supervising the work on the 6th floor of the 10-storied building at Sabuj Chata gali, East Manikdi. At one point, he accidentally fell on top of a barbed wire wall on Monday evening.”
He was rescued with serious injuries and taken to Kurmitola General Hospital first. Later, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital around 9 pm on Monday. While undergoing treatment, the doctor declared him dead at around 8:30am, Tuesday.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
