Bangladesh is set to start issuing visas to foreign tourists again, after a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
The restrictions have been lifted from Monday, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali said at a press conference in Dhaka.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, said the state minister.
He also noted that the current government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is constantly working for the development of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
The government has taken various steps to overcome the damage caused by Covid-19 to ensure a sustainable development in the tourism sector, he added.
