At least 30 errors have been found in the Bangla first paper questions for grade XI of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.

The half-yearly examinations of class XI started with Bangla first paper on June 16.

A copy of the question paper recently went viral on Facebook.

Many found 18 errors while some noticed 20 errors in the question paper. However, at least 30 errors were found in the whole question paper after proper scrutiny.

A parent posted the photo in the Facebook group of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College parents’ forum with the caption: “This is the sample of a question paper of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. The current principal has brought the institution to the brink of collapse!”

Mohammad Abdul Majid Sujan, general secretary of the forum, said: “Viqarunnisa is one of the five renowned colleges in Bangladesh. Such errors in a question paper of the institution is unforgivable. We believe that all the teachers of the institution are highly educated. But if they make mistakes like that, what can students learn from them!”

This is not the first time errors have been found in a question paper of the institution. Over the last year, errors have been found repeatedly in question papers of various classes, he added.

Dr Farhana Khanam, a teachers’ representative of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, said: “A teacher has been asked to show cause after providing wrong information about Zafar Iqbal in a seventh-grade question paper. The same is supposed to happen in this case as well. I am currently at home due to illness.”

“Principal Madam will be the one to provide accurate information regarding the matter,” she added.

Several attempts were made to contact Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Principal Kamrun Nahar over phone but she did not respond.
