Police have found evidence of sexual harassment of students against Murad Hossain Sarkar, a senior teacher of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College's Azimpur branch.
DMP Additional Commissioner Dr Kha Mahid Uddin told this to reporters at a press conference on Thursday.
He harassed the female students sexually in various ways including touching the body of the students at different times in the name of teaching them at the coaching centre near the school, said the police official.
Evidence of harassment was found through analyzing various sources, including mobile phones and laptops which were seized during his arrest, said Mahid Uddin.

The plaintiff alleged that the girl was an eighth grade student of the branch. In 2023, she was admitted to Murad's coaching centre while studying in the seventh grade.
During coaching, teacher Murad used to tell offensive jokes with the student and her classmates. The girl used to dance in school, the teacher used to watch the video of that dance before going to sleep, according to the case statement.
The official said proof of inappropriate conversations with several female students was also found in multiple audio recordings.
On the afternoon of March 10, 2013, the classmates of the girl left after the coaching, but Murad asked her to sit some times. At one stage, he asked the girl to bring water and suddenly grabbed her from behind and sexually harassed her in various ways.
Later, teacher Murad asked the student not to tell this matter to anyone.
"I hugged you like a father, don't tell anyone."
Later, in the same way, Murad used to sexually abuse the student at the coaching centre for a long time.
He also threatened the student about expulsion from the school if the incident is leaked.
Due to Murad's threats, the victim girl kept the matter a secret.
However, recently when the issue of indecent behavior with the students came to the attention of the school authorities, they took initiative and called several parents to the school.
Later, in the presence of the parents, when asked about the sexual abuse of the female students by the teacher Murad, they admitted the matter.
When this matter came to light, many female students who were sexually abused by Murad began to open their mouths.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, a Dhaka court sent Murad to jail in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order as police produced him before the court after the end of his two-day remand in the case.
Murad was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday from his Kalabagan home and was placed on two-day remand on that day.
The school authorities from an emergency meeting on Monday suspended Murad Hossain Sarkar.
He was withdrawn from his regular duty at the day-shift of the Azimpur Branch and was attached to the principal's office as the allegations against him surfaced on Saturday.
