Police in Sylhet have found a live hand grenade lying by the side of a road in Malnichhara tea garden. Top officials of the police inspected the spot after the recovery of the grenade.
Law enforcers said that local people found the grenade lying by the side of the road on Sunday night. Later, they informed the police of the discovery.
Police arrived at the scene and restricted public movement in the area. They also issued a letter to the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Bangladesh Army for disposal of the grenade.
Sudip Das, additional deputy commissioner (media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, on Monday told Dhaka Tribune that the grenade looked very old and they were waiting for the bomb disposal unit to arrive.
