Rail communications to northern routes from Dhaka resumed on Saturday morning, after 12 hours of suspension, as a passenger train derailed near Mouchak Rail Station in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur.
Divisional Manager of Pakshi Railway Shahidul Islam said that two compartments of Dhaka-bound Panchagarh Express train veered off the tracks near Mouchak Rail Station around 10pm, halting the services.

The train communications on the route resumed from 9:45 am, he said.
"A four-member probe committee, headed by the departmental transport officer of the railway, has been formed to look into the incident. The committee has been asked to submit a report within three working days," Shahidul Islam added.
Meanwhile, a rescue train from Dhaka reached the spot at 3am, said Rezaul Islam, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Railway Junction police camp.
