The Benapole Express is set to resume operations in the Dhaka-Benapole route from December 2, after remaining suspended for nearly one and half years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A letter in this regard has reached Benapole railway station authorities, Station Master Saiduzzaman said on Friday.
He said that the train would leave Kamalapur Railway station at 1pm and 10:30pm everyday, except Tuesday, like it used to before the pandemic.
Currently nearly 2,000 passengers are traveling through the Benapole-Petrapole check post, 95% of whom are patients seeking advanced treatment in neighbouring India.
Passengers have been suffering as railway communication remained suspended from Benapole as buses and other means of transport warrants a longer travel time.
