The government has decided to keep the national flag hoisted at public and private offices and buildings on Thursday marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, in this regard on Tuesday, reports Bangla Tribune.
The national flag will be hoisted in all government, semi-government, autonomous and non-government institutions, educational institutions across the country and in the Bangladesh Mission abroad on Thursday.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born in Tungipara Upazila of Gopalganj on March 17, 1920.
On the occasion of his birth centenary, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina announced the observance of “Mujib Borsho” from March 17 to March 26 last year.
But, due to the pandemic, the program was extended till December 16 last year and again till March 31.
